Garner State Park: Our favorite place to camp!
Updated: Jul 29
Our family's favorite camping spot has always been Garner State Park in Concan, Texas. It's got beautiful camp sites that are dog friendly, caves to explore, amazing hikes and plenty of places to cool off in the water. We love that the hikes are the perfect mix of breathtaking views with mild to moderate difficulty. It has an adorable giftshop, a food truck and a store on site for all those last minute essentials you forget at home. But I think our very favorite part of Garner is the absolutely amazing night sky. On multiple occasions, we were able to see the milky way galaxy clearly in the sky! Light pollution is so low that the stars at night are big and bright ... deep in the heart of Texas. Sorry, I couldn't help myself there. But bottom line, its gorgeous.
Here is a video we made from our very first trip and we've been back at least once a year since.
Our youngest daughter, Tessa, typically requests we spend her birthday camping at Garner every year. This year was no different. We're so glad we squeezed in this last camping trip right before we went into quarantine. Here are a few photos from the trip!
